"Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul."
-- Jamie Lyn Beatty
Of all my wishes for 2018, traveling was my dearest. And while family illnesses and unforeseen events prevented me from traveling nearly as much as I wished, 2018 was still a year of wonder.
I discovered, explored, and documented every beautiful nook and cranny I found around the world.
From pedaling on a 10-person bike around Morelia, Mexico to seeing Meghan Markle's wedding dress at Windsor Castle to my first glimpse of El Arco in Los Cabos, I cherish every single moment. And can't wait to explore and document even more in 2019...
VEGAS
From my first bite of an Eggslut sandwich to the incredible Vegas decorations for the Chinese New Year, Vegas helped Hubby and I reset last February after the death of my grandmother. As always Las Vegas was colorful, vibrant, and carefree... everything you could want in an "escape", no?
LOS CABOS
I visited Los Cabos for the first time in March and fell instantly in love with the raw rocky beaches, the delicious seafood nibbles, and the breath-taking sunrises. I can still feel the sandy sea breeze on my face and the warm sunshine tanning my pale skin. But my favorite part was driving ATVs through the Baja desert which sadly, I do not have any photos of seeing as I was, well, driving...
MORELIA
I'll admit, before my first visit to Morelia in May, I had never even heard of this famous Mexican city. But, it's quiet secrets, long-standing history, and stunning architecture slowly grew on me. From the authentic Mexican food (and the very best fish tacos I've ever had in my life) to the kind locals, I could move to this beautiful city in a heartbeat!
NEW YORK CITY
Since 2015, I've had a lot of opportunities to travel to NYC for work, for fashion week, and for personal trips. This year I made it twice and both trips revealed so many new exciting corners of the Big Apple! From the best pizza I've yet found in NYC (I'm looking at you, Rubirosa) to my cousin's 40th birthday trip in October which involved way too many cocktails at Blacktail, I fell even deeper in love with this magical city.
LONDON
After my sister moved to London this fall, my Mother, Husband and I couldn't wait to visit before the holidays last month. From seeing Meghan Markle's wedding dress on display at Windsor Castle to yet another amazing afternoon tea service at Sketch to all the incredible Christmas decorations up for the holidays, this trip made for a dazzling end to 2018...
