In London there are few things more delicious than afternoon tea at Sketch.
This quirky, 18th century townhouse tea room is easily one of the most memorable experiences you'll have in all of London. After my first visit in 2016, I dreamed constantly about my experience -- the fluffy scones, Michelin-starred nibbles, aromatic teas, and the insanely inspiring creative space you enjoy them in.
(Spoiler: it's served in an ALL pink room)
So when my family made it back to London for some Christmas shopping, we couldn't stop ourselves from making a reservation at Sketch.

The Decor
Everyone knows Sketch for its incredible decor. This space is an artist's playground with visual enticements in every nook and cranny.
And while there are many beautiful spaces within the Sketch townhouse, none are more breath-taking than the powder pink Parlour Room where afternoon tea is served.

The Bathrooms
My favorite part!
Don't be fooled by the powder pink tea room -- while it deserves unending praise for it's creativity and sheer beauty, no visit to Sketch could possibly be complete without a visit to their famous bathroom.
This wacky unisex bathroom is full of egg shaped pods that'll make you feel like you're preparing for space travel as opposed to... well, you know. And for the Christmas season they received an extra-special festive make-over which had everyone grinning from ear-to-ear.
The Food
When it comes to afternoon tea, the food can often be a disappointment:
Dry sandwiches, crumbly uninspired scones, almost inedible cakes...
But not at Sketch.
Both times I've had afternoon tea here, the food has blown me away with it's quality and diversity. And this year's special holiday tea menu was especially unique!
The Tea
When you order afternoon tea at Sketch you have a wide variety of options to choose from but I almost always choose the British classic Earl Grey.
(Which pairs beautifully with the Pommery Brut Rosé champagne they serve!)
FINAL THOUGHTS...
Regardless of WHY I'm in London, I can't see myself ever visiting without a stop for afternoon tea at Sketch.
While I certainly have many more options to try still in London, Sketch will always hold a very special place in my heart. From the powder pink parlour room to the sci-fi-esque bathroom to the sheer volume of delicious nibbles you'll consume, Sketch is by far one of the most memorable experiences you can have for afternoon tea.
