When my sister told my Mother and I she was moving to London, we weren't exactly upset by the news. Beyond being a great move for her, we adored London when we visited in 2016 and were itching to go back.
Particularly around Christmas.
Because there is something truly magical about Christmastime in London.
Yes, there are MOBS of crowds (enough to make NYC at Christmastime feel empty).
And yes, you need to make reservations and plans WEEKS in advance depending on what you'd like to do.
(I HIGHLY recommend a reservation for holiday afternoon tea at Sketch)
But it was worth it. The incredible decorations, piping hot mulled wine, delicate mince pies... oh, I miss it already...
If you ever have the opportunity to see London decked out for the holidays... don't hesitate one minute!
The Museum of Architecture's Gingerbread City
One of the most magical parts of our trip was this incredible Gingerbread display. Tucked into a back room at the Victoria & Albert Museum you'll find one of the most charming and extensive gingerbread cities ever constructed. Absolutely everything you see was edible (though I would not suggest licking the exhibit as some visitors did...). And incredibly delicate.
As a lover of The Great British Baking Show, I just fell in love with this charming scene and hope you will too!
