I love wearing shirt dresses.
They're my wardrobe go-to. My wardrobe savior. Whenever I'm having a "I don't know what to wear" moment, I always opt for a shirt dress.
ALWAYS.
They're just so darn easy. Slip it one on, add a belt if you're feeling fancy, and you're done!
And they work for so many occasions.
I always pack one in my carry-on for trips.
And love to wear them shooting clients or walking the dogs in the early morning.
Over the years I've amassed quite a collection of shirt dresses -- some I paid less than $20 for, others were splurges. But they've all been worn to BITS.
My favorite places to find shirt dresses?
I love the vintage silhouettes on Etsy the most (I snagged the dress in today's look for under $30!). Other great spots are SheIn (for inexpensive options), Nordstrom (for a good variety), and L.K. Bennett (for the best tailoring).
Generally I look for dresses with pockets, strong buttons, and a dramatic flare in the skirt (I can never resist a skirt swish). They're practical yet beautiful:
