Being a native Midwesterner, I know a thing or two about surviving in cold climates.
My number one tip?
Soak up as much of the summer sunshine as you can during the warmer months.
And, man, have we had one perfect Midwestern summer this year. Beautiful, not-too-hot days. Lower-than-average humidity. Tons of sunshine and just enough rain to keep everything green and healthy.
I think this may end up being one of the most perfect summers on Chicago’s record. And, after the humidity, heatwaves of last summer, I think we’re all breathing a sigh of relief that there are plenty of days we can actually turn OFF our a/c, open the windows, and not melt/suffocate in the process.
Thank you Mother Nature for such a gorgeous summer. Can we keep it up through August?
