Isn’t this ruana (a wool poncho with an opening in the front) just lovely?
Until this fall, I’ve never DARED wear a poncho of any kind…
I’m petite with a lot of curves and a large piece of fabric dropped over my head was bound to just make me look large, right? If not pregnant…
WRONG!
Oh-so-wrong.
Who knew a glorified blanket could be such a wardrobe savior!?
This ruana has quickly become one of my favorite go-tos (and one of my 14 Autumn Wardrobe Essentials!). It’s such an easy way to feel chic AND cozy. And since you know I’m a fan of classy outfits that just so happen to be as comfortable as pjs, I’m sure this comes as no surprise.
The best part? This one is under $60 but looks SO similar to the $1,500 shawls Burberry has on the market right now.
Trendy? Check. Easy? Check. And all for a fraction of the price of nearly identical designer options? Double check!
And for the dozens of you who reached out to me after yesterday’s post, THANK YOU. I have been absolutely humbled by the love and kindness I’ve received since opening up in such a raw way. I’m so thrilled to report that my grandmother has made what can only be deemed a miraculous recovery and managed to be admitted to rehab last night. Time will hopefully prove that’s she’s much stronger than the frail 90-year-old she appears to be. I intend to stay here in Florida for at least a few more days to organize her care, speak with social workers, and try to get a sense for just how much she will actually improve but for the first time this week I’m actually feeling optimistic. Thank you so much for your kindness and love!
