I’d be lying if I didn’t say these last few weeks have been hard. Summer is always the busiest season for my business and this last month has easily been my busiest month EVER.
I’m so grateful to see my business (well, businesses if I’m being honest) grow but lately my 80+ hour weeks have been taking their toll. Some weeks I hardly have time to shower let alone actually relax.
And isn’t that what summer is all about? Relaxing and enjoying the warm, beautiful weather? So starting with my birthday next week, I’m going to experiment with actually scheduling relaxation time into my week.
Novel, I know.
But when you own your own business, it can be so easy to forgo relaxation to do just one more thing to drive your business forward. To work constantly, around the clock, to make things WORK and work WELL.
But as the success of my business continues to grow and as I gain more and more clients, I’m realizing that I just CAN’T be everything to everyone. That I can’t be everything to my business. I’m only one person after all! And, as a person with a loving husband I love spending time with, close friends I prefer to catch up with in-person, and two very demanding and snuggly pugs, I can’t always allow my business to be ALL of me and ALL of my life.
