It took me a really looooonnnnnngggggggg time to come around to the jumpsuit trend. I searched for months before finding my favorite tailored black one from Forever 21. And finally, after many more months of searching, I’ve found this second, more casual jumpsuit for my shoots.
I love the idea of a jumpsuit — as a full-time photographer a jumpsuit is a wardrobe dream come true. I’m always trying to cover myself while I’m shooting, wary of the fact that bending over or crawling on the ground can easily lead to me flashing strangers as they walk by (sexy, right?). And I’m always desperate for clothing with deep pockets to shove as much camera paraphernalia in as possible.
So the moment I saw this khaki jumpsuit, it was INSTANT love. It’s green, meaning when I roll around in grass for a shoot I can still look presentable for cocktails after (well a spritz of my favorite Jo Malone cologne helps too). It’s flattering on my hourglass figure without being constricting. It’s incredibly comfortable and breezy meaning I’m modestly covered without dying in the Chicago summer humidity. And it has MASSIVE pockets (and so many of them!) for me to store my gear in on the move.
I think it’s safe to say this khaki jumpsuit may be my IDEAL shooting uniform. Now if only I had bought a second one before they went out of stock…
