What is it about summer that just makes you want to spend time near the water? I honestly can’t seem to keep away from Lake Michigan these days, especially now that summer has finally truly arrived (along with its dreaded humidity).
So when I saw this adorable little dress on Zara’s clearance rack last month I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot it. I paired it with my new cork pumps, my favorite beach bag (last seen here), this stunning lapis lazuli pear necklace (you KNOW I have a thing for pear-shapes), and my grandmother’s charm bracelets. She collected charms from each of her travels and last year gave me her bracelet in the hopes that I would continue to add to it. Every time I wear it I can’t help but smile and think of all the amazing adventures she had and all the places she visited. I love having such a sentimental piece and I hope someday I’ll pass the bracelet along to my children or grandchildren too.
Do you own any sentimental pieces in your wardrobe? What makes them special to you?
